About Standing Tall For Vets
Yuba, Sutter, Colusa, and Butte Counties are home to over 30,000 veterans. Statistics suggest 20% or more are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and countless others are seeking medical attention from the US Veterans Affairs Department for a variety of health related treatments. These statistics are just for our community.
We have all read the headlines of appointment delays and improper care which further cause harm to those who bravely served our country. While still not a perfect system, the VA is improving, and this improvement has happened because of public outcry and advocacy. In our community, we want to do more.
Honor to the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country’s cause. Honor, also, to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field and serves, as he best can, the same cause.
